GGNRA - Marin Headlands Hike, Marin
Saturday, July 12th, $3
9:20 a.m. Rockridge BART carpool
10:15 a.m. Manzanita parking lot carpool
Explore with the leader (510) 451-5252 the ruins of Hill 88 on Wolf Ridge and hike along other ridges on this 10 mile hike with open rolling hills and splendid views of southern Marin and the Golden Gate. Possible afternoon stop at Tennessee Beach. Expect sun, wind, fog and a few steep sections with some tough footing at a moderate pace. Drivers meet leader at the Manzanita commuter parking lot (under Hwy 101 at the Rt. 1 turnoff) at 10:15 a.m. or the (Rockridge BART) Carpool at 9:20 a.m. to create carpools to the Tennessee Valley trailhead where parking can be quite tight on a sunny weekend. Bring hats and sweater, food and enough water. Few facilities.
Directions To The Manzanita Parking Lot: Take Hwy 101 north to the Stinson Beach/Mt. Tam (Hwy. 1) exit. After going under the freeway, take an immediate left into the parking lot. If you are coming from the East Bay, take the Richmond Bridge to Hwy 101 and go south to the Hwy 1 exit.
Shoreline Park Hike, South Peninsula
Sunday, July 13th, 2:00 p.m., $3
Join us for a leisurely 6-7 mile hike at Shoreline Park in Mountain View. We will meet at the front of the boat rental facility at Shoreline at 2:00 p.m. and hike past salt marshes filled with birds and other wildlife. Bring binoculars for a close up view, along with liquids, hat, sunscreen and something to snack on. When we return, there will be an optional dinner stop. Directions from San Francisco: Go south on US 101 towards Mountain View. Take the Shoreline Boulevard exit and head east towards the bay. You will drive past the entrance station and follow the road as it curves around towards the sailing lake. There will be places to park in the vicinity.
Directions from San Jose: Take US 101 north and turn east on the Shoreline Boulevard exit. Follow the rest of the directions listed above.
Jewish Singles Summer Sizzle Dance II, Peninsula

Armstrong Redwoods Hike, North Bay

Join us for a 6-7 mile loop hike with spectacular views in beautiful Armstrong Redwoods. There will be an optional dinner stop after the hike. For more information, call leader at (707) 865-0228.
Directions: Take Hwy 101 to the north part of Santa Rosa. Get off at River Road exit. Go about 15 miles west to Guerneville. Make a right at Armstrong Redwoods Road. Go 2 miles to the parking lot on the right before the park entrance. The park address is 17000 Armstrong Redwood Road, Guerneville.
Las Trampas Regional Wilderness Hike, East Bay
Sunday, July 20th, $3
10:00 a.m. trailhead
Meet the group at the end of Bollinger Canyon Rd. in San Ramon for a 6 to 8 mile hike with moderate elevation gain. Enjoy beautiful views of Mt. Diablo, Dougherty Valley and the Delta. Also, we can stop at San Damiano Retreat for some extra miles and spirituality!!! Bring lunch, plenty of water, and sunscreen. Some of the trails are shaded and some are in full sunlight, and it might be hot that day, so be prepared.
Directions: From either Hwy 580 or Hwy 24, take Hwy 680 to San Ramon. Exit at Crow Canyon Rd. Go west. Turn right at last stoplight before the hills, at Bollinger Canyon Rd. Follow road to the end, about 3 to 4 miles. It dead ends at the parking lot, where you will find free parking and the trailhead, as well as bathrooms and water.

Butano State Park Hike, Peninsula

11:15 a.m. trailhead
Join us for an approximately 7 mile hike round trip hike on the Jackson Flats trail, through a lush redwood forest in Butano State Park. It lies in a secluded redwood-filled canyon with a flowing creek, just south of the town of Pescadero on the Pacific Coast. Bring layered clothing, liquids and lunch. Meet at 9:00 a.m. at Rockridge BART (near escalators) for a carpool or at 11:15 a.m. at the entrance booth to Butano State Park. Optional dinner afterwards at Duarte's Restaurant in Pescadero. If you are carpooling from Rockridge BART, please be prepared to make a contribution to the driver to cover gas, bridge tolls and the park entrance fee.
Directions to Trailhead: From San Francisco, take Hwy 280 south to Hwy 92. Take Hwy 92 west to Half Moon Bay and turn left onto Hwy 1. After going 15 miles south on Hwy 1, turn left onto Pescadero Rd for 2.6 miles, turn right (south) on Cloverdale Rd. (Cloverdale is the next intersection on the right after you pass the blinking red light in the town of Pescadero) and then go south 5 miles to the park entrance on the left (east). Stanford University History Hike, Peninsula

11:00 a.m. at the northwest (Sand Hill Road side) entrance to Nordstrom's in Stanford Shopping Center
This is going to be an interesting hike starting from the northwest (Sand Hill Road side) entrance to Nordstrom's at the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto at 11:00 a.m. We will hike across the flatlands, passing Hoover Tower and other sites of interest to the hills behind the university and back. Total distance will be 6-7 miles and will be easy with minimal elevation gain. We should return by 2:30-3:00 p.m. and will seek out a suitable no-host refreshment stop on our return. Bring water and sunscreen.
Directions from Interstate 280: Take the Alpine Road exit and head towards Stanford. Go past the light at Junipero Serra and turn right on Sand Hill Road. Go approximately two miles and you will see the shopping center straight ahead and Nordstrom's will be on your right. Pull into the parking lot.
Directions from U.S. 101: Take the University Avenue exit towards Palo Alto. Go through downtown Palo Alto, turn right onto El Camino Real heading north. The shopping center will be on your left. Bear to the right and head towards the rear of the shopping center. You will see Nordstrom's off to your left. Call leader at (408) 738-1319 for information before 10:00 p.m.
